She was raised in Sun Valley Idaho youngest of four daughters, spent her summers riding the Rocky Mountain Trails She grew up in this rugged mountain country riding horses and with the best skiing and country living, she was afforded a spectacular background as an artist to base her canvases on.

Biography

Growing up in Sun Valley, Idaho rugged resort, Lisa was riding horses and painting the spectacular landscapes of the Gem State.
She moved to California in 1977, and has been expressing the beauty of the Golden State in her art since then.Lisa started her formal training at Art Center College of Design, and for the next 30 years continued learning with the best of California Art Institute mentors, Watts Atelier, and master artists like Ned Mueller.She has been juried into several professional national art competitions.Lisa's works are in permanent exhibitions at San Juan Capistrano Mission Museum and Harvey Mudd College.Lisa McKnett is an artist member of The Plein Air Painters of America, Portrait Society of America, The California Art Club, Laguna Plein Air Painters, Oil Painters of America, and many others.
